Helisika Agricultural Limited was incorporated in 1995 by Greg Gribble in Auckland, though it wasn't his first venture in the industry — he was previously part of the group that founded Helisika Taupo in 1987. The company began with a Hughes 300 operating from a grass pad, and shortly after moved to a skyline garage at Ardmore Airport. Today Helisika serves the Auckland and Southland regions as the primary branch of the operation.
To extend our reach across the upper North Island, we operate a northern sister branch, Helinorth Helicopters Ltd, based at Dargaville Aerodrome with a large hangar housing all aircraft and equipment. Helinorth specialises in agricultural spraying and fertiliser spreading for farmers and crop growers throughout Northland. Its commercial helicopters are also fitted with specialist lifting equipment for heavy loads — including construction material, timber, concrete and metal — making helicopter lifting an ideal solution for hard-to-access and remote sites
Since then we've come a long way. We now operate two aircraft out of a much larger hangar at Ardmore, with a third based at Dargaville. Our reach extends across the upper North Island, with the Dargaville base operating as HeliNorth.
Throughout our history we've flown many different aircraft — R44s, the R66 and Hughes 500s — and today we fly Squirrels for their versatility. Over the years we've continued to grow and improve wherever possible to deliver cost savings for our clients, while always ensuring high-quality work done right the first time.

In 2020 we celebrated 25 years of operation as Helisika Helicopters — a special occasion, as Greg was still with us at the time. Sadly, in 2021 Greg passed away after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. Today the business is run by his son Jaz and remains owned by the Gribble family.
Through all these years we've continued to support our friends, clients and communities, just as they have always supported us. We look forward to what the future holds, and hope you'll be part of it.
