Fire Fighting & Emergency Response

Helisika Helicopters are FENZ, Fire And Emergency New Zealand, and Civil Defense approved operators providing a safe and reliable aerial firefighting and emergency response service.

We can respond quickly to a FENZ and Civil Defence callout and work closely with Private Companies, The Department of Conservation and Local Councils as part of their network of service providers for aerial support.

Our crew and aircraft are poised and ready to respond in a moment's notice to any callout that may be received. With two aircraft based in Auckland, and one in Dargaville we are able to respond to callouts all over the Upper North Island.

Our aircraft are equipped with hi-visibility blades, GPS tracking, and flight data recording systems which ensure a high level of safety is maintained. Paired with the emergency response system ARENA we can keep response times to a minimum.

Equipped with collapsible fire buckets, our aircraft are able to fill from many water sources such as oceans, lakes, dams, rivers, as well as being filled from fire trucks when water sources are unavailable. These buckets are fitted with fire foam injection systems which allow for more effective fire suppression.

Our aircraft are supported by experienced and appropriately trained Ground Crew, paired with Toyota Landcruisers and 2000 Litre Fuel Trailers, allowing an adequate supply of fuel for any callout.

Regular training is complete in-house with staff, and with FENZ personnel to ensure a high level of safety around the aircraft is maintained.
